Harvest Party
For many, this is considered the highlight of the club year and showcases how Danes do a group meal. No quick 'eat and run' stuff here . . . be prepared to spend a couple of hours enjoying the food, the drink and the friends.
It begins with the classic herring and rye bread, washed down with Akvavit and perhaps a Danish beer - accompanied of course, with a song!
The next course is a breaded fish fillet smothered in remoulade . . . more snaps . . . more songs.
The main course consists of the famous Danish smørrebrød which is a selection of open faced sandwiches - always eaten with a knife and fork! Try one of each and don't forget the snaps and singing!
Dessert features a selection of cheeses, grapes and chocolate. The Danish beer is particularly tasty after all this! A coffee also hits the spot.
Leave some room for a late night lunch of danish hotdogs!
We also do a few formal things like present trophies from club events throughout the year, but the speeches are VERY short.
Then it's time to dance. Between dances, take the time to sample some more of that Danish beer, the akvavit and to visit with your friends.
